Been meaning to bring this up for some time. Who are the top posters here, brahs? My father lost one of his best friends to a lightening strike when they were 12, and my father was one of the first few to arrive because he happened to be with his uncle and cousin who were members of the community's fire department. Dad said the poor kid was covered in burns.
Then, 8-10 years later in the early 70's, Dad was indirectly struck by lightening. They had just stopped using the old style tobacco barns and had bought their first bulk barns for tobacco. Dad had a crew putting some of the first tobacco into the racks when a storm hit. Dad and a couple of others were in the bulk barn leaning against the side of it waiting for the storm to pass when lightening struck, knocked the shit out of everyone and threw them to the ground. He said it felt like someone had knocked the wind out of him, hit him in the head with a hammer and then kicked the living shit out of the rest of his body all at once.
I proudly took AFAM 040 at Carolina.
