Went into "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" with low expecs...pleasantly surprised, good set up for franchise run-through number two (they can leave out "Beneath" 'cause it didn't make much sense to me)

Saw "Crazy Stupid Love" this weekend...solidly above average, which is better than I was expecting considering Steve Carell was in it.

I like Carrell,. Playing someone as stupid as Michael Scott has to be a tough assignment. Just ask Prof Tiger.

I don't dislike Carell, but most of his movies have been pretty mediocre...this one was good.

The one with Tina Fey was a solid C+.

Yeah, Date Night...not terrible, not great. Tina Fey has the "nerdy-looking hot" thing going on.

And "Dinner for Schmucks" had some chuckles in it. Ditto "40-year virgin".

Finally got around to seeing True Grit. Very impressed. Actually liked it better than "No Country For Old Men".

I keep both Black Dynamite and The Hangover on my laptop at all times, for airplane or "at the mother in laws house" viewing. They were 1 and 1A in my favorites of 2009.

You can't watch movies on your laptop on flights anymore. Why do you lie?

Yes you can.

Of course you can. I haven't flown this Summer, and one time earlier this year I got some grown-man-fly-like-you-only-pay-15%-taxrate time on a firm Gulfstream (or whatever it was), but I've always watched my laptop.

It's probably just Ohio.

They made me turn mine off. Not because it was porn but because they said it would Fuck with the pilot.
