Don't be jealous of our conference strength, AA. I'm sure the ACC can find room for the Tide if you guys ever decide to nut up and play big boy football.

Conference strength? According to that, 4 of the top 5 are SEC. Highest ranked ACC team is 8th.

It's painful being top heavy. Just ask my wife.

I would put more stock in the poll if it had FSU higher? 8th? Gimme a break.

It's not a poll really, it's a computer program. It basically compares how well you do against a team offensively and defensively against how well other teams did against them. FSU has not performed well defensively this year but has held tough at the right times. Offensively we've been unstoppable at times but downright average at others. This is probably the first year that I've felt like f/+ was "off" - Miami has not performed like a Top 20 team, and having them rated above a team (UNL) with two fewer losses and who beat them head-to-head is comical. Also, Notre Dame at #22 - heh.

Just a discussion point...and maybe an indication that the ACC is not as horrible as some would think. BC beating USC and VT beating anOSU probably impacted these results as much as anything else.

I misspoke: program. Not poll.

I've never thought the ACC was horrible this year. It's a conference with one great team and 5 or 6 decent teams.

and one of those teams are in the Coastal...I would call the Coastal a dumpster fire, but that would be an insult to dumpster fires everywhere...

He's going to have to look up and see who has the better record. Then he'll get back to you

http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/7 ... age-to-sec

Fact: The ACC went 4-0 against the SEC on Saturday, the first time in 14 years it swept its conference rivals.

Fact: The ACC has more wins against Power 5 teams in 2014 than any other Power 5 conference, including four against teams ranked in the top 10 when they played.

Fact: Florida State has won 28 straight games.

Fact: The ACC has 11 bowl-eligible teams for the second straight season.

The spin needs to stop because good teams exist beyond the SEC banner. The ACC just proved that in a big way.

I'm not a #goacc guy and really think many of the programs need to step up their game, but I get absolutely disgusted with the overblown SEC ass-kissing that ESPN tried to shove down everyone's throats this year. Three SECW in the first CFP poll? How'd that work out for ya?

I'm really shocked that those 3 SEC west teams didn't all go undefeated.

Yeah but all the ACC's wins were over SEC East teams. Those don't count. Including Missouri because they lost to Indiana. And Texas A&M and Arkansas don't count either because they lost to Mizzou.

So basically that means than 9 out 14 SEC teams suck, and the other 5 are the top5 teams in the country. And that's why it's the deepest league on the planet and it's not remotely close. Put Arkansas or Tennessee in the Pac12/ACC/Big10 and they are playing for the national title!!!!

Jesus. It never ends. You keep building these strawmen, DSL, and we'll have to use linoleum for the nativity scenes this year.
