Ughh. Well at least that version includes Memphis and Army *but it brings up ECU again, too.) Sigh,in almost no scenario is UC listed as a candidate to flee (basically it would have to be the big 12 adding UL, WVU, and UC all it once to get back to 12 after Mizzou leaves...and thats assuming they stick with raiding the Big East and don't put BYU or Boise in the mix.)

BE trying to save itself by inviting anyone who will answer the phone and holding a championship game at Yankee Stadium. While recruiting potential members in Florida, Texas, and Idaho. Guffaw

"Notre Dame has worked side by side with our 13 other schools as we try to figure our way out of this. Notre Dame is committed, if not more committed to this conference than any other member"-- Big East Commissioner John Marinatto

The Big East's survival gambit appears to have worked...

Holy crap! I was going to make a joke about the Big East adding San Diego State and/or San Jose State, but it was so silly I didn't bother.

Wow.

Well, on the plus side, I have an excuse to go to San Diego. The two National Parks I haven't been to in California yet are both down that way too (Channel Islands off the coast of LA and Joshua Tree.)

On the plus side... first conference with schools in the recruiting grounds of California, Texas, Ohio, and Florida. Bonus lesser recruiting ground of Jersey area.

Memphis to the Big East in 2013. With West Virginia leaving this year and Pitt & Syracuse probably leaving shortly thereafter, the 2013 version of the Big East will be:

Boise State
San Diego State
Houston
SMU
Memphis
Louisville
Cincinnati
South Florida
Central Florida
UConn
Rutgers

Navy joins in 2015 to make it an even dozen. Of course, this assumes no one else moves, and rumors have been flying that Louisville is a top target for the Big12.
