From ESPN's Mark Schlabach:
"Frost won't make it through the season: One of Nebraska's favorite sons, Frost's tenure at his alma mater has been a disaster. The Cornhuskers have gone 15-29 in his four seasons and haven't made a bowl game under his watch. He took a $1 million salary reduction, and his buyout gets cut in half to $7.5 million after Oct. 1. The Cornhuskers will start 3-0, but penalties and turnovers will continue to doom them during a 1-3 stretch after that. Athletic director Trev Alberts will cut him loose after a loss at Purdue on Oct. 15."

No weeping for Frost who leaves with at least a $7.5 million buyout.
He was not the problem and I doubt the next coach will do any better.
In today's world there are too many attractive alternatives to playing in Lincoln and the old cachet that drew past blue chippers is dead and buried.

Heh. Ironically, they would kill for that level of success now.

Last year (before the game against BC) the head coach for Missouri said recruiting is everything and (likely) the WORST THING to ruin Nebraska Cornhusker football was leaving the Big-XII for the B1G-T(14)N. And why? Because their recruiting in Texas went to zero when they joined the B1G-T(14)N. And without the Texas athletes on the team, they can forget actually WINNING anything anymore.

Maybe he has a point?

Either way, since they left, the school is just, meh. They used to dominate all of college football. Today? Meh. Average at best. The program has been in ruin for almost 20 years.
